Neighbourhood Plan – Consultation.
We have now begun the formal process of consultation on the Westbury sub-Mendip Neighbourhood Plan. The first full draft, known as a pre-submission draft, and developed following two years of village surveys and discussion, has been sent to an extensive list of organisations that we are required to consult. We are able to amend the plan if needed in the light of their feedback before submitting a further version for inspection. If the plan satisfies the inspector, it will go to a local referendum.
We are therefore consulting local residents at the same time as statutory consultees and seeking feedback. A link to the plan and its supporting documentation is here. We recommend that you look at the plan online if at all possible as it is a substantial document with an extensive set of links to other sources. However, we will be producing a limited number of printed copies that will be available to examine in the shop and other locations. We will also try to produce a summary document that gives the headlines.
In the next few weeks, we intend to hold a number of focus groups and a village meeting to allow for discussion of the plan and to hear the views of residents. Details will be announced shortly.
To help us take account of the feedback from residents it would be most helpful if you could use the feedback form which can be downloaded from here Please return by 31st December 2025 if at all possible.
