Westbury Friendly Society was founded in the late 18th Century and is one of only five remaining Clubs in Somerset. One of the traditional annual events we hold, is Club Day.
10.00 am – Members to meet at The Old Vicarage and entries for the Fancy Dress where the judging will take place.
10.00 am – Parade leaves to march around the village behind the Friendly Society banner to the Westbury Inn.
11.00 am – After the awarding of prizes for the fancy dress, there is a roll call for Members.
11.30 am – Service at St. Lawrence’s Church
12.45 am – Andy from the Westbury Inn is providing lunch and tickets are £25, available from committee members and the shop. A licenced bar will be available.
Fancy Dress – There are 3 categories:-
7 and under 8 and over Family or Group
Last year we had 10 entries and hope the number will increase this year. You can dress as whatever you like , adult entries are most welcome and prizes will be given in all categories, with an overall winner.
We hope that as many people as possible will support our village Club Day as they have done for nearly 300 years and keep this ancient tradition alive!
